Fitzroy Gardens

 Exploring Fitzroy Gardens

Fitzroy Gardens is one of the major attractions in Melbourne. It was named after Sir Charles Augustus Fitzroy. It is located near the city center.

Ready for the afternoon. I was so glad to have my good old Skyflakes and Gatorade with me.

The Conservatory

Captain Cook's Cottage - It is a cottage rebuilt in Fitzroy Gardens to commemorate the voyages of James Cook, discoverer of Australia.

Well placed signs help you get to the right places.

An odd looking tree. Or so I guess. I have never found anything like this in the Philippines. :-)

Flowers inside the conservatory.

Hanging beauty

Orchids galore

Statue of Mary Gilbert inside the conservatory. Mary Gilbert was the first European woman to live in the Port Philip settlement.
